Search for the best heat pump brand and you’ll find plenty of opinions but no single right answer, because the best heat pump for your home depends on your property, not a universal ranking. As an installer approved for Samsung, Vaillant, Daikin, Mitsubishi and Clivet, this guide gives you an honest overview of each brand so you can understand what makes them different.
All five brands we install are well established, MCS certified and capable of delivering efficient, reliable heating when correctly specified. The right choice for your home depends on factors like your property’s heat demand, the available outdoor space, your budget and what warranty terms matter most to you, not a generic brand ranking. A heat pump that’s perfect for one property may not be the ideal fit for another, regardless of brand.
The Samsung Gen 7 range uses R-290 refrigerant and achieves a SCOP of up to 4.51. As a Samsung approved installer, we offer the extended 7-year manufacturer warranty on qualifying installations. Samsung’s high temperature variant is designed to operate effectively across a wide range of property types. Read more on our Samsung heat pump installer page.
The Vaillant aroTHERM Plus is one of the most widely installed heat pumps in the UK, achieving a SCOP of up to 5.03 and delivering flow temperatures up to 75°C. As a Vaillant Renewables Partner, we provide the 7-year manufacturer warranty on qualifying installations. Read more on our Vaillant heat pump guide.
The Daikin Altherma 3 comes from the world’s largest air conditioning and heat pump manufacturer, with a SCOP of up to 5.0 and an A+++ energy efficiency rating. As a Daikin Sustainable Homes approved installer, we provide the relevant manufacturer warranty on qualifying installations. Read more on our Daikin heat pump installer page.
The Mitsubishi Ecodan is the UK’s best-selling heat pump range, with a SCOP of up to 4.3 according to the MCS Product Database. As a Mitsubishi accredited installer, qualifying installations come with the 7-year manufacturer warranty. Read more on our Mitsubishi heat pump installer page.
The Clivet EDGE PRO range achieves a SCOP of up to 4.95 and is recognised for its ultra-low noise operation, making it a strong option for properties close to neighbouring windows. Read more on our Clivet heat pump guide.
The best way to choose is a full room-by-room heat loss survey, which establishes your property’s actual heating demand and helps identify which brand and specification will perform best for your specific home. Factors we consider include your available outdoor space, existing radiator setup, hot water demand and any noise-sensitive boundaries with neighbouring properties.
All five brands qualify for the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, rising to £9,000 for oil or LPG properties, so the grant itself does not favour any particular brand. You can check your grant eligibility on our dedicated page.
Because we install all five major brands rather than being tied to one manufacturer, our recommendation is always based on what suits your property best, not on which brand we happen to sell. Get in touch for a free assessment and our MCS certified team will give you a clear, honest recommendation. You can read more about our heat pump installation service.
