MCS certified

Registration NIC-601634Held through NICEIC, our certification body

MCS, the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, is the UK standard for heat pump and solar installations. It covers how a system is designed, how it is fitted and how it is handed over, and certified installers are assessed against it.

What it means for you

The £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant is only paid on an MCS certified installation
Your heat pump is sized from a room by room heat loss survey, not guessed from the floor area
Noise is checked against your neighbour's nearest window before the unit goes in
You get an MCS certificate, which solar panels also need for the Smart Export Guarantee

A written, itemised quotation and a clear contract before any work starts
Deposits and advance payments protected

NICEIC approved contractor

Approved contractorHeld by Electro Heating Limited

NICEIC assesses electrical contractors against the wiring regulations, BS 7671. A heat pump needs its own supply, an isolator and often a new fuse board, and solar and batteries are electrical work from end to end.

What it means for you

The heat pump's supply, the fuse board, the inverter and the battery wired by our own approved team
Every circuit tested, with an Electrical Installation Certificate in your name
Notifiable work registered with building control for you, so there is nothing to chase

Gas Safe registered

Registered businessHeld by Electro Heating Limited

Gas Safe Register is the official list of businesses allowed to work on gas in the UK. Fitting a heat pump is not gas work, but taking out the gas boiler it replaces is.

What it means for you

The old boiler disconnected and the gas supply made safe by us, in the same visit
No second contractor to book, wait for or pay
Gas work done legally, by a registered business you can look up

Excellent service from start to finish. Jack was fantastic in helping me design and specify my air source heat pump and air conditioning system. He made sure I was happy with the proposed solution and pricing every step of the way. His technical knowledge is excellent, and at no point did I feel pressured into making any decisions. Ionut led the installation team, and they were outstanding. Their workmanship was neat and professional, and they paid close attention to every detail, making sure I was happy throughout the installation. The team are true professionals and clearly take great pride in their work. During some of the hottest days of the year, with the loft reaching almost 50°C, they just got on with the job to ensure our air conditioning system was installed and working on schedule. At the end of each day, they spent time cleaning up thoroughly, leaving the house spotless. I genuinely can’t fault the team. A huge thank you to Jack, Ionut and everyone involved for their hard work, professionalism and dedication. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I had an excellent experience with Green Electro Heating. They installed a Samsung 16kW heat pump along with a Joules 400L water tank, and the entire job was completed within just three days. The team went above and beyond, after initially removing a 300L tank, they made the extra effort to install a 400L tank instead, despite the challenges of working within a very tight space. Their problem-solving and attention to detail really stood out. The aftercare has also been fantastic, with great follow-up support following the installation. On top of that, they guided me through securing both the government grant and additional grant from Barclays, which made a huge difference. Highly recommend, professional, efficient, and genuinely helpful throughout the whole process. Thank you!

A very professional team you can rely on. Dorina was always in contact, keeping everything well organised and making sure I was constantly updated on the progress of the work.

This is a follow-up to my earlier review after 14 months of having the heat pump and benefiting from a warm flat all day long. I'm so glad I made the decision to go ahead with the installation by Green Electro Heating in Enfield, who guided me through the process of applying for the Government's grant of £7,500 towards the cost. The pump is working well and I don't have to think about it. I can fully recommend getting a heat pump to anybody who is thinking about it.

Jack, Dorina and Ionut arranged the installation of my ASHP. They are very quick to respond to your queries and do not mind answering endless questions! Jack's advice on the location of the outside unit and the insulation of the ground floor was invaluable.

From survey to hand over everything was spot on. Very happy with quality of installation, Viorel was professional and worked tidy.

You can trust that the company will deliver what they promise. They genuinely care about their clients, not only during the job but also after payment has been made and the work has been completed.

I had my heat pump installed Vaillant 7kW and 200L Vaillant Cylinder. The heat pump is very quiet and easy to use.

I have used Green Electro heating for many years now for my heating systems. They always take the time to understand the issue properly and give me clear advice on the options to address it. The quality of the work is always excellent.

Great experience, from first contact to installation of our heat pump only took one week. Jack is was very knowledgeable and his team on site did a great job with installation.

During the work they were all very polite and worked hard to get the job done with minimum disruption. Over all they have done a great job to deliver what I wanted.

Certification questions

Is Green Electro Heating MCS certified?

Yes. Electro Heating Limited, which trades as Green Electro Heating, is MCS certified under registration NIC-601634, held through NICEIC, for heat pump and solar installations. You can check the number on the MCS installer register before we visit.

Why does MCS certification matter for a heat pump?

The £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant is only paid when an MCS certified installer fits the heat pump. MCS also sets how the system is designed: a room by room heat loss calculation, a heat pump sized to the house and noise checked against the neighbours.

How do I check an installer's certifications?

Ask for the registration numbers and look them up yourself: MCS on mcscertified.com, the Renewable Energy Consumer Code on recc.org.uk, NICEIC on niceic.com, Gas Safe on gassaferegister.co.uk and TrustMark on trustmark.org.uk. Every link is on this page.

Which certificates will I get after a heat pump installation?

An MCS installation certificate, an Electrical Installation Certificate, confirmation that the work was notified under building regulations, notification to your electricity network operator, and the manufacturer warranty registered in your name. We also apply for the grant and redeem it for you.

Does a heat pump installer need to be Gas Safe registered?

Not to fit the heat pump itself, which is not gas work. Disconnecting the gas boiler it replaces is gas work, and only a Gas Safe registered business may do it. We are registered, so it happens in the same job with no second contractor.

What is the Renewable Energy Consumer Code?

A consumer code approved by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute that covers how renewable systems are sold: written quotations and contracts, protected deposits and an independent dispute service. Our membership number is 00076362.
