Vaillant Heat Pump Installation, Kingston upon Thames KT2
In October 2026 our engineers fitted a Vaillant air source heat pump at a house in Kingston upon Thames, KT2. The house heats through underfloor heating, and the outdoor unit went into the narrow passage at the side of the house, out of sight from the garden and the street.

A big unit in a narrow passage
The heat pump is a two-fan Vaillant monobloc. It stands on anti-vibration feet on the paving, and it was levelled with a spirit level on its lid before anything was connected, so the unit sits true in a space only just wider than it is.
The flow and return pipes run low along the wall to the house in thick black insulation, with an isolating valve on the run, and the electrical supply comes to its own isolator on the brickwork beside the unit.
One cupboard for the whole system
Inside, everything sits together in one cupboard: the Vaillant controller and wiring centre, a Zilmet buffer tank, a Vaillant hot water cylinder, a magnetic filter, the expansion vessels for the heating and the hot water, and the manifold that feeds the underfloor heating.
Every pipe in the cupboard is insulated, so the heat goes to the floors and the cylinder rather than into the cupboard, and an engineer can reach every valve when the system is serviced.
